Basically, an Independent Contractor enjoys the following benefits: Ability to perform duties of position with maximum flexibility in regards to method and manner. Ability to choose when to perform duties. Freedom to work wherever the contractor chooses, such as at home or in your own office. Potential for unlimited income - no maximum amount of time a contractor can work each day or week. An Independent Contractor essentially works for themselves and are not eligible for Workers Compensation, Unemployment or any company benefits such as vacation or insurance. You are responsible for your own taxes. You will be sent a 1099 at the end of the year.
